FreeFileSync trying to communicate with Malwarebytes tray app

Hi - Had a pop-up warning from Zone Alarm Firewall Free that FreeFileSync (FFS) wanted to access Malwareytes (MBAM). I've been using both FFS and Zone Alarm Firewall Free (version: 15.8.107.18436) for several months and the Premium version of MBAM for many years which I always keep up to date. This is the first time this has happened. Also, the version of FFS is several years old. For a long time now I've blocked its access to the internet every time I use it as it was always wanting to update and I have the donor edition which gets reverted to a standard edition if you allow it to update, hence not wanting to update. For now I've chosen "Kill" FFS and am thinking of uninstalling, which I really don't want to do as it's the best/easiest to use file and folder sync app available in my view. But with Zone Alarm detecting FFS trying to access MBAM I feel I can't trust FFS any longer.

Appreciate any thoughts on this please.

    Hello Ben,

    Unfortunately, we don't know why FFS needs to access MBAM.

    Better you contact Support for FFS. They may have a valid reason.

    But to be safe, I suggest that you continue to kill FFS with ZA or uninstall it until you know the reason why the software needs to access MBAM.
