Sandblast Agent caused slowdowns

I'm having a problem with Zonealarm Free Firewall and its Sandblast Agent.  A few hours ago SOME (but not all) operations on my PC became so slow it was really unusable.  Windows logs didn't show much unusual except this error about every 30 to 40 seconds.

"The Check Point SandBlast Agent Threat Emulation service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s).  The following corrective action will be taken in 500 milliseconds: Restart the service."

These errors seem to have started a couple weeks ago when I replaced an old spinner data drive with an SSD, NOT when things slowed down, but I tried disabling the 3 "sandblast" services AND THAT FIXED THE SLOWDOWNS!

Now I wonder if there is a way to get Sandblast to behave, but for the time being I'm leaving it off.  FWIW, I'm running Zonealarm along with Windowss Security (Windows 10) and Malwarebytes.  This combo has worked for years without any changes except updates from the vendors.  I really only want Zonealarm for the firewall and if Sandblast duplicates functions of the other software then I'm pretty sure I don't need it.

I'm also idly curious about why Sandblast would start giving errors when I replaced my drive D:

ZoneAlarm Free Firewall version: 15.8.038.18284
Vsmon version: 15.8.9.18268
Driver version: 15.1.29.17237
