Competitor apps like Bitdefender have a built in browser protection and supports common browser apps and is able to block sites without using VPN. I think it uses an accessibility service maybe? I like the VPN feature to protect all of the traffic but I'd like the option in certain situations where zonealarm is still monitoring browser traffic without having to use the VPN. I thought I saw that as a feature when I tested before subscribing on a different phone but I'm not seeing it on my S23 Ultra. Is this built in and I'm just not seeing it in the app? Or does the app only protect browser traffic when the VPN is active?

    Please note that ZoneAlarm Mobile Security's VPN is not like a traditional VPN that changes your location. Instead, it uses VPN technology on your phone to protect your browsing while you're connected to the internet.

     

    This means that all traffic between your device is protected, even when you're using public Wi-Fi networks.

     

    Regarding your question about whether ZoneAlarm Mobile Security's browser protection feature is only available when the VPN is active, Yes, the safe browsing features should be turn On in order for  ZoneAlarm Mobile Security to protect your device when you are browsing
