The Automatic Check for updates is not working

Solution:

ZoneAlarm 10.x and greater.

Make sure you are connected to the Internet. Verify the Automatic Check
for Updates is enabled by performing the following.

Double click on the 'Z' icon in the system tray in the lower right hand corner of the screen.

Windows 7 users may not see the icon in the system tray and will need to click the arrow pointing up in the system tray to see and double click the 'Z' icon.

Click on the 'Tools' drop down menu and select 'Scheduled Tasks'

Make sure the 'Product Update' option is Enabled and click the Ok button.

To manually check for updates, click on the Update dropdown option.

Check For Updates does not work if the license key is expired.

Note: Updates are controlled and slowly made available and although there may be a newer version the update has not been turned on for your pc to automatically get it yet.

auto-update is enabled, but the antivirus section says it's not updated ("security update overdue"), as I try manually, it keeps failing (error :updating not successful ) or it says "finished", but then the  update-window doesn't have an end button, only a retry button and a cancel button

section antivirus/firewall stays red (need fixing)

what to do to get the correct update and the section fixed?

I have already tried closing and restarting Zonealarm and rebooting the pc, but both methods don't work.....;-(

I have similar problem. I'm running Windows 10 Pro and have been using ZoneAlarm for years. Recently I discovered that my ZoneAlarm Pro AntiVirus + Firewall product indicates "Your computer is At Risk". Seeing this I attempted to preform an Update by clicking on the "Fix Now!" button.

This action started the update process but nothing happened. After 30+ minutes I canceled and closed the process. I then clicked on the "Update" option in the task bar and again the update process was initiated but noting happened.

I then started doing some research and found this item in your support database. The ZoneAlarm product installed on my system has the following attributes:

    ZoneAlarm with Antivirus version:  15.1.501.17249

    Vsmon version: 15.1.501.17249

    Driver version: 15.1.29.17237

    Antivirus engine version: 8.7.1.99

Antivirus signature DAT file version: 1265535904

Also, it says that my protection is valid for 311 days. I hope that this information helps you in fixing the problem. Let me know if you need any further info.

    Thank you.
